How to Be a Volunteer

Individuals interested in serving with Bristol Raceway Ministries may do so in two capacities: Volunteers and Chaplains. Volunteers serve only in the campground supporting one of four key ministries (see the graphic below). Chaplains serve not only in the campground ministries but also serve in one or more of the ministries on the grounds or within the Speedway itself. Both Volunteers and Chaplains are encouraged to be part of the Prayer Ministry.

Both Volunteers and Chaplains agree to serve in the ministry according to the Statement of Faith and under the authority and direction of the ministry leadership. The campground ministries startup several days prior to the first race events and continue through the conclusion of the final race. Raceway ministries operate during all race events including other times when the Speedway is open to race fans such as time trials.

Currently, both Volunteers and Chaplains are required to interview and receive approval to join the ministry from our Director, Tom Elam (click here for contact info).

[see more info below]

Volunteers generally receive on-the-job training. An updated and revised Chaplain training and certification program is under development for implementation in 2007. All workers purchase and wear Bristol Raceway Ministries clothing with our logo. Chaplains wear royal blue button up shirts, Volunteers wear white t-shirts with the ministry logo. This clothing can be ordered during Orientation Sessions or by contact the Ministry office (click here for contact info).
