Statement of Faith
Revised 7/29/2026
Our Identity and Purpose
Bristol Raceway Ministries ("BRM") is a nonprofit Christian organization organized under the laws of the State of Tennessee and recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
BRM is a non-denominational Christian ministry comprised of believers from various Christian traditions who are united by a shared commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the essential biblical doctrines expressed in this Statement of Faith.
The purpose of Bristol Raceway Ministries is to glorify God by sharing the love of Jesus Christ through compassionate service to race fans and the local community, proclaiming the Gospel, encouraging spiritual growth through biblical ministry, and demonstrating Christ's love through acts of service. Every aspect of BRM's ministry, including its outreach, volunteer service, leadership, chaplaincy, and public ministry, exists in furtherance of this religious mission.
Core Doctrinal Beliefs
The following represent the essential biblical doctrines of Bristol Raceway Ministries.
God
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe God the Father is the Creator and Sustainer of all things and has revealed Himself through creation, the Holy Scriptures, and supremely through His Son, Jesus Christ.
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for sin, rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will return in power and glory. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, brings conviction of sin, grants new life through regeneration, equips believers for Christian service, and empowers the Church to faithfully carry out Christ's mission.
The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority for faith, doctrine, Christian living, and the ministry of Bristol Raceway Ministries.
Humanity and Salvation
We believe humanity was created in the image of God but became separated from Him through sin. We believe salvation is available only by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Through His death, burial, and bodily resurrection, forgiveness of sin, reconciliation with God, and eternal life are offered to all who place their faith in Him.
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of all believers who have been redeemed through Jesus Christ and commissioned to proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, serve others, and demonstrate God's love throughout the world.
We believe Jesus Christ has entrusted His Church with the Great Commission to proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, baptize believers, and teach obedience to His Word. Bristol Raceway Ministries seeks to fulfill this calling by sharing the love of Jesus Christ through compassionate service, biblical teaching, prayer, pastoral care, and faithful Christian witness.
Christian Character and Ministry Principles
Because every volunteer serves as a visible representative of Jesus Christ and Bristol Raceway Ministries, all who serve with BRM are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects Christian character and strengthens the ministry's public witness.
BRM seeks to cultivate lives characterized by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, as described in Galatians 5:22-23.
Those who serve with BRM are expected to demonstrate honesty, integrity, humility, compassion, respect for others, and a servant's heart while avoiding conduct that would knowingly compromise the ministry's Christian witness or undermine its religious mission.
Biblical Convictions Regarding Marriage and Human Sexuality
We believe every person is created in the image of God and possesses inherent dignity and worth. Every individual should therefore be treated with compassion, respect, and genuine Christian love.
Consistent with our understanding of Scripture, we believe God established marriage as the lifelong covenant union of one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy is reserved exclusively for marriage.
We believe God intentionally created humanity as male and female and that this distinction is part of His good design as revealed in Scripture. These sincerely held biblical convictions guide the ministry's teaching, leadership, pastoral care, and religious practices, including those carried out by individuals serving in recognized ministerial roles.
Volunteer Service
Every volunteer serving with Bristol Raceway Ministries participates in advancing the ministry's Christian mission and represents the organization through both words and actions.
BRM welcomes volunteers from a variety of Christian denominational backgrounds who share a desire to serve others in the love of Christ. While volunteers may differ on certain secondary theological matters, all volunteers are expected to respect the ministry's biblical convictions, support its religious mission, and serve in a manner that does not intentionally conflict with or undermine its Christian witness.
Ministerial Recognition
BRM believes that God calls certain individuals to positions of spiritual leadership and ministry. In carrying out its religious mission, the ministry may appoint, commission, or ordain qualified individuals to serve in chaplaincy, pastoral care, teaching, evangelism, or other ministerial roles.
Individuals serving in these capacities are entrusted with greater spiritual responsibility and public representation of the ministry. Accordingly, they may be subject to additional biblical qualifications, doctrinal affirmations, and standards of accountability established by the Board of Directors through the ministry's governing policies.
Biblical Authority and Ecclesiastical Governance
This Statement of Faith summarizes the essential beliefs of Bristol Raceway Ministries but is not intended to be an exhaustive statement of biblical doctrine. The Holy Scriptures remain the final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, morality, ministry, and Christian conduct.
The Board of Directors serves as the final interpretive authority concerning the meaning and application of Scripture as it relates to the ministry's doctrine, religious practices, and governing policies.
Questions concerning doctrine, biblical interpretation, ministerial standing, commissioning, ordination, and other ecclesiastical matters shall be determined by the Board of Directors in accordance with Scripture and the governing documents of Bristol Raceway Ministries.
